Jason, I agree with you with your request. The GUI (graphic user interface) needs improvement for ease of use and workflow. I would also add to this request the ability:
1) Right Click - Selection Tool
2) Right Click - Zoom to selected object or objects

Agree -

Caveat .. is there a limit to how we load up the contextual menu ? We've seen it grow hugely in the last couple of years .. and I wonder where it goes from concise contextual assistant to rambling list of tools ?

- I also seen no reason why a contextual menu cannot also utilise an icon ?

- I'd love to see undo and redo stacks utilise an icon to aid quick recognition

- and .. really like to see an icon image added to each shortcut entry in the shortcut manager

- and v set as the default shortcut for select .. as we use so many other shortcuts from the Adobe UI paradigm .. this would make sense !

I agree it can get unruly to have too many options, but if the user could pick which options show up in right click menu that would be the ultimate. Or the right click menu could be more contextual as to what is selected too.

For instance if I right click a 2d curve, I would want to be able to change the direction, show points , and modify (lineweight, line type and line scale) in addition to whats already in the current menu.

If I select a dimension I would want to be able to change the dimension properties like dim tolerance, show hide zeros, well most dim properties.

One thing that is duplicate is when you select an object and right click it shows the part name and length which also displays in the top bar as well? This is space that could have other options in it.

Another one with the right click is if I select several objects and right click I want to change all items at once say color or layer , currently it only applies the right click options to the object you right click over not all selected? but if I select several objects and use the menus to change say color it changes all selected objects. If I select one or several objects then right click anywhere I want the contextual menu to be the one when you right click on top of a single object not the default one when no objects are selected?

I want to be able go change multiple selected objects with the right click functions without opening object info or dragging menus down from the top. Its a huge time saver.

Jason,

We changed this in Shark V6. In addition to the item you are clicking over, it will now change all items selected.

--Zoom Select
--Zoom All ViewPorts

Although not the right click menu, we have added user defined tool palettes in Shark V6.

I'm using the windows version of VC Pro. What i would like in the right click i would also like in F2... I want to be able (like under Linux/windows) to hit F2 to enter "edit" mode so that it become less tedious to rename layers and other objects.

While on this subject, is there any reason that the Even Distribution option isn't available under Resolution in Right Click, but is there in the main menu? Can it be added so as to keep things unified, please? **Edit** And also under Preferences please.

Martin.

Tim, can we add to the Right Click feature or an Icon Button in V6 of Shark to Hide All Points.

Any chance of seeing points getting an upgrade? like

1. Points show up in draw views
2. Points are definable before creating like color, type, size, etc.

Thanks

1. Points show up in draw views

Fixed in V6.

2. Points are definable before creating like color, type, size, etc.

You can now specify the default point type in V6. Color follows the pen color as before. Size is still fixed.

Regards
