It would be nice to add to the model to sheet dialog a name box when creating. This allows you to name the mtos layer when creating and not having to go into layers and rename.

Thanks

... I would like to see F2-like functionality to speed up insertion of and renaming of layers in cases where there are manyyyy layers to be dealt with.

Dragging and dropping of (contiguous? cherry-picked?) layers from any tree/level/branch to any level/branch would remove an enourmous amount of overhead for me.

A kewl touch would be "ctrl+drag-drop" a given branch/tree/tree to clone a substantial number of layers in long/deep/nested layers. But, this implies the need or ability to automatically or semi-automatically and partially highlight portions (prefixes? suffixes? parsed by special characters such as hypens delineating renamable areas of the layer name?) to obviate a need need to tediously and time-consumingly rename lots of layers in the deep clones being created.

For example: in a building, a ship, or even a car, some areas will have repetitive "master-like" layers and maybe a few need to have some inserted into or removed from the clones (besides those needing zonal types of name adjustment), again, needing prefix/suffix changes.

A global-level type of name adjusting would be nice (this implies that a faux spreadsheet palette (and, dear gods, please don't limit it to ms excel; there exist various compatible types; maybe xml or something universal but internally exportable/importable for massaging purposes...) pops up to speed up columnar or row adjustments since developer attempts to predict what the wild user might want to change might fall short or be overkill relative to the time/expense of doing this). Alternatively, instead of a spreadsheet popup a simple set of tick-boxes, or smart parse-selectable portions could be devised.

Just my long (possibly repeated from last year?) idea, rehashed...
