I need to join an elliptical tube to a round tube to form a deformed end for a diagonal brace. A better alternate would be to simply deform the end of the round tube. Can either be done in Via Cad 7 or 8? See attached file.

You might need to export your attachement in an older format of ViaCAD/Shark (v7), because I suspect most do not have V8 as yet. Martin.

Take look at enclosed file see if this is what you want
Explode curves of each end of tube
Skin solid from outer curve to outer curve repeat form inner

Hi Jason. That is what I was looking for. I don't understand the reason for the subtract inner from outer step in you answer. My steps were explode curves, Skin outer, Skin inner. When I go to the front view and back view I can see through both tubes and the inner skinned surface. Edit: I am going to see if I can blend the tube skin intersections more smoothly. Jim

You can do lofted solid with guides to get a smoother surface. Of course, this will entail making your guide curves and getting rid of the hollows to later hollow the final part to your desired thickness. EG
