ViaCAD 12 Pro Build 1536
i7-8700 processor, 6 cores, 32G mem, program on SSD, files on spinning disk.
Win 11
Initial drawing saves reasonably OK. File size 1.1 meg. Opens fast.
Added one flange bearing symbol (imported and converted separately to .vcp first and saved off as 372 k file) and the file save time quadrupled at least (now minutes) and the file size ballooned to 2.5 meg.
Further added one pillow block bearing symbol (imported and converted separately to .vcp first and saved off as 266 k file) and the file save time went off the clock (like go for a coffee and still wait a bit when you come back) and the file size is up to 2.7 meg. File still opens in a snap. Tried saving directly to SSD, still took over 3 min but ViaCAD only using 12% CPU out of a total being used of under 35%.
Add a couple more similar symbols and you now go for lunch and have it crash when you come back.

What gives with the astronomical increases in save time? What could possibly be going on with this file? I have other files way more complex and 4 times the size that save in under ten seconds.

Getting very frustrated with what is actually a fairly simple drawing, any suggestions appreciated.

I guess you have to many objects in a layer.

But you can trying compact the file and removing the history.
