Feature requests:

While hoping that the Concept Explorer gets brought into the 21st century (anything layer not a root of itself should be draggable to anywhere in view in the CE, and without a shift of modifier key; a long select should be sufficient to activate it, or a modifier key hit once can initiate it, but should not have to he held down during the operation; if open source apps can, then no one sane and no sane commercial company should be hamstringing SharkCAD) in V14, and while hoping others get their widh that longstanding bugs are once and for all addressed, I hope:

The CE gets a new twist: a tear-off or a fly-out capacity.

To be clear, the CE needs a regex or text filter that is smart enough to parse and not compel the need for black magic or special runes.

Terms typed into the title bar area would instantiate a floating fly-out or tear-off window (that leaves the original or parent CE intact and awaiting modified entry) but the fly-out could also have a filter box that can down-select subsequent entries.

The CE and the fly-out could then by user choice down filter the drawing or optionally draw as-approlriate 2D or 3D geometry or smartly-translucent boxes or spheres or conformal blobs around the terms-filtered geometry.

Further, the Select Mask and Concept Explorer could use some smarter integration. It would be nice if a right-click (or suitable operation) on a Select Mask label could optionally elevate to view any hidden geometry.

Further still, for insanely-long CE layer depths, it would be nice if the Select Mask could launch a fly out that could down-filter the CE or launch a floating, sub-CE that hwlps limit the scrolling and expand/collapse effort.

It would be nice if the Concept Explorer would, on close and restart, remember the on-screen position of the layer names. This would spare the user having to make notes about where in a long tree one last was using in a prior session. So, named tasks task palettes migh be a help.

Also, it would be nice if Clip Planes were endowed with an option to mask out of selection any geometry not within the Clip Plane effect. Along with that, Zoom All would ignore content made invisible by the Clip Plane/s.

The Inspector is seriously lacking reliability. Long layer names that are pattern names beyond the Inspector edge are MADDENINGLY difficult to wade through. Some kind of check box filter snd gradient colorization is needed if the Inspector is going to inexplicably, intransigently remain non-resizable.

Otherwise, for long-flow names, a text wrap with borders (to reduce confusion) should be implemented. (It isn't right nor fair to tell or to expect users to use shorter names.)

Optionally, a keystroke and mouse combo could cause the Concept Explorer to "slide" into view the coy/hide-and-seek Inspector' corresponding name. The Concept Explorer, Inspector, and Select Mask, as a trio linked, could be powerful.

One can wish.
