I have been working with Viacad/Sharkcad for a while now, and this error always seems to sneak up on me in the middle of projects. I start on a part and add my constraints/variables, and after an hour or so I try to revisit a variable. And for some reason, the variable will not accept my new input. I have attached an example file where I duplicated this error, but does anybody know what exactly causes this to happen? Sometimes it's user error and I have something linked that shouldn't be, but in this case I don't see why modifying the variable (d2) should be a problem. It is currently set to 5.584, but if you try to change it to ANYTHING else it will not work and cause the entire sketch to fail. I've tried locking different lines in place to fully constrain everything, but nothing seems to quite work.

Hi Alboy Sorry I'm not much help. I dont use the constraints variables function in viacad. But just a thought, have you tried using the gripper as an alternative test to move the points?. I use another program that if you accidentally lock something, it comes up with a message that this part has been over constrained. Often after careful consideration I realize where I have locked it by over constraining. Also, and you probably already are aware, (so you don't loose everything) you can reload a drawing from backups under file, which can be set from menu top left File, Preferences, Filing, Tick auto save etc. I looked a bit more. Perhaps try changing the constraint of the center line of the oval from constraining from the bottom to constraining from the top, or perhaps constraining those circles to the center line rather than from the edge of the part. Sometimes, I think the processor gets confused which value to use (before it was changed or after it was changed) when there are quite a few variables, and by changing the anchor points it changes the sequence in which it does the calculations. Just some thoughts, Hope they help a little. 🤞😊
