Counter bore locating (#3663)

Ok Newbie here (fiddled with CAD for a couple decades, but never much other then a few quick drawings.) I'm trying to do a counter bore (or simple hole/counter sink) On a solid that at an angle from the XYZ. I can select the face no prob, but how do I locate it precisely on the face? I had been doing this the hard way of making a second solid, placing into the first and doing a subtraction. Works but is a bit rough roundabout way. On a similar vane, on an assembly drawing, any tricks to lining up the part hole, bolt, washer, and nut on an angled face? Thanks.

Not certain if I understand your question, but when I want to "mark" an exact location I just use the point tool set by x,y,z coordinates.

XYZ location is only available to through hole, not CB/CS do not offer a XYZ position(s) Point too seems counter intuitive for this operation (I have been using lines to locate an intersection for the second solid method)
I'm sure I'm missing a step/concept.

Try creating a 3point plane on your angled surface, then making your holes using normal to work plane. To locate your holes you will need to either create points on the surface, or draw construction lines.

Thanks Nick. That seemed to be the missing piece. Though I couldn't seem to place a single point on the surface, but the distributed points worked (just need to remember to put points on their own layer to delete later)
