OK, probably a odd-ball item...... But as a example. A Gilmore (timing belt). I'm working on a project that uses these and open ended. Would be nice to create one 'wavelength' then be able to extrude it to the length I need. Or is my thinking wrong?

Maybe create the length you need>pattern>Boolean "Add"? Or you could Boolean Subtract a pattern from a solid as well? There could be several other approaches. But these came to mind first.

Hello,
you can use:
1 - Tool helix.
2 - controlling dimensions.
3 - projecting the helix on the plan to get a sine wave.
4 - extrude with optional thin extrusion.
