Hi Filip,
The only way I know of is to type ALT-0216 for a Diameter Symbol. Enclosed is a chart for other symbols.

Hi Filip, You could make a , and copy- paste. I like using SharkFX for modeling, but sorry to say, I have to export the Model-to-Sheet as a .dwg to AutoCAD LT98 for dimensioning. The Title block can be edited, arrowheads etc. are easy to change. I have tried over the years to use SharkFX, Concepts Unlimited, Cobalt, and Vellum, and just can't put up with the frustration of dimensioning a drawing. AutoCAD LT98 is old, but it works, and finishes the paperwork. Larry

I agree with Larry, text, dimensions and hatches are difficult to handle and there are many bugs.... Since Vellum 2.7 (~ 1995) the first real improvements I see on model to sheet are on beta V9, and they are promising... Keep on hammering the nail Tim !

One thing about using the ALT+ combo, you must use the numbers on the keypad, not the numbers above the letters. I know this is kind of old, but just wanted to throw that in.

I guess I never thought about diameter symbol, and wondered why - doing (not drawing, doing) lots of holes, pipe saddles, and beams the last few weeks. Drawings rarely have diameter, it seems radius is the normal (not a standard that I know, just a quick look over a stack). holes just say 7/8, 2 1/6 ect, if at all (usually x xx/16 u.n.o). Diameter is sometimes given in pipe rings by a linear demission across quadrants. Unless the drawings are in metric, which diameter seems standard and radius is not listed. Having a CL symbol might be nice; everything is done off center. Yet another Tim genius moment having midpoint line. I do know that dimensions seem to slow vcp to crawl almost instantly, so I generally reserve adding them at the very end, in a copy file - living my clean drawing clean.

Hi Guys,
I'm running latest 2D3D on an iMac and dimensioning circles automatically puts the sign in. Placing it here was the standard Option + o.

If you are talking about a short key for diameter dimension you assign a key using the short cuts menu under file. You can assign a letter that gives you a short cut to radial out, radial in, diameter in, and diameter out. Jim
