I'm trying to do a standard bend, of a 3D object but I get ACIS Error "The bending configuration will compress/invalidate the entity.:Bend_187276" What does that mean?

Hi Colin
Is the bend radius too small for the thickness of the part you are bending? Or is the bend going to deform others features of the part?

Hi Jason, The bend radius (1/8") is the same thickness of the part, but I have also tried making the bend radius 1/4". The section of the part (1/8" x 1" flat bar, with a slot in it) has no features/details.....ahh, I discovered that I needed to turn off the "workplane" snap. Colin

well done Colin ! the bend tools are great, but they don't seem very user friendly You have to fiddle around a lot to get a result - particularly when you get to the bend along curve tool - that thing works well, but the user feedback is atrocious. the bend tools would really benefit from some preview arrow overlays or something to show which way the bend should occur perhaps when in the bend tool - the bend axis (pl) could become bold and show a bend direction around it/them - that could be a start !?

Well, Jol, I'm generally finding that I have to "fiddle around a lot" and use undo, when I don't get what I want. I guess I'm getting what I paid for, but my only prior CAD experience is about 8 years using 2D (QuickCad 2000) CAD, which I was pretty fluent with. I have a second bend to make, in the other end of the piece (need to wrap around an existing part). It looks like I need to bend, then take the whole piece and then rotate it. It seems like I shouldn't need to do this many steps.
