Will there be any differences, improvements, etc in exporting STL files for creating toolpaths in CAM software (Cut3D or BobCAM) from ViaCAD Pro or from Shark LT or Shark FX? I'm determining whether it makes sense to upgrade from ViaCAD Pro v8.

My guess is that any differences in STL would be minor. We made a some changes checking for collapsed facets on STL export from 8 to 9. There were also some meshing changes from 8 to 9, but I'm not sure if it would impact Cut3D or BobCAM. Maybe a Cut3D or BobCAM user who updated to 9 might have some more insight.

Thanks Tim.
I'm still very wet behind the ears in 3D CAD. Where can I learn more about working in 3D in ViaCAD or Shark? There are so many tools that I don't yet understand, and it's time that I did. I'm purchasing a CNC router/lathe for my woodworking business.

1. The help menu has a variety of getting started tutorial videos.
2. http://masterviacad.com (videos, tutorials, resources)
3. User forum (reading previous posts and posting as you have been doing)
4. Tips Book (I wrote a tips book with the most frequent questions at the masterviacad.com)
