I talked to Customer Support on 12-5-14 about a printing problem possibly with the program. (He tried to print using his program at Tech Support and couldn't do it either and determined it was a programming error and he would notify the developers of the problem, but couldn't tell me if it would be resolved and if so, when it would be resolved).

My program will only print the 2d objects and no 3d renderings or objects either to a printer or to PDF. Only the initial lines, boxes, circles, etc. that the 3d object was based on will print, even though a full 3d rendering is highlighted for printing on the screen. Sometimes, (but almost always not) I can print the 3d object using the "print window" drop down box, although, but this is only a screen shot and not acceptable for presentations or my use. The "page layout" window in the program will only show the basic lines that the 3d objects were designed from and not the 3d rendering itself.

I did export the file to another computer running Windows XP and Viacad 2d-3d version 7 and converted the file to the version 7 format and everything printed fine including the 3d objects. All objects did show up in the "page layout" window in this version as always.

I purchased this latest Viacad 2d-3d version 9.0.0 Build 1109 program a several of months ago by download for my Hp Envy 17.3" laptop equipped with 12 gigs of ram, Intel CORE i7 processor, and Windows 8.1 64 bit OS because of the Windows 8.1 operating system on this new computer. I didn't need to print anything using this latest program on this particular computer until yesterday (back in December of 2014) , when I couldn't print my 3d renderings.

I searched the internet and this forum and couldn't see anyone else who has tried to print a page using this version and claimed they had a problem printing even when there are possibly thousands of other people using this same program. Does anyone have any more suggestions?



Please Mr. Olson can you read this message and reply to me about a solution?

Tech support says that they have many problems that they are working on with this version and build number and some day they may
have a repaired version for download and I should keep looking for it from time to time , but it is very frustrating that I can't even print a simple rendering...... box, sphere, etc. using this program.

I am having the same printing problem with ViaCad V 8.0 running on a Windows 7 PC, as described by Mr. HOW.

The Model To Sheet function will not produce an isometric image of even the most simple block extruded model. Nor will the Print to Printer option produce an isometric view. I use PrimoPDF successfully with all of my other software, but ViaCad produces an opaque blue image.

I am considering upgrading to ViaCad v 9.0, but am reluctant to do so given the printing problem I’m having with V 8.0 and the problem Mr. HOW describes with V 9.0 Pro.

Can you advise me as to how to fix my V 8.0 printing problem ?

Can you assure me that the same problem has been fixed for V 9.0 Pro?

I installed the ViaCAD Pro PowerPack Build Beta 1152 via the link you sent me and when I start ViaCAD Pro, the response is a dialog box that says that mfc100.dll file is missing. I tried the install twice and came up with the same result.

With respect to my printing to a PDF problem, I would like to send you a JPG file that is a screenprint of what my simple model looks like in ViaCad v8.0.

In addition I'd like to send you a JPG file that is a screenprint of the pdf created when I simple use the print function in ViaCad (not the Model To Sheet function).

I don't know how to send JPG files via this forum software. There does not seem to be a way to attach files. I tried a PM as well, but file attachments are not an option.
