I am using ViaCAD 2d/3d Ver9

The desktop icons are generic. I have a proper icon for the main program but for any files I save there are only generic icons? I've deleted the icon cache db, rebooted and no change. I uninstalled ViaCAD and reinstalled and still no desktop icon?

If you mean desktop icons for data files, can you check your setting for Prefs : Files: Save File Previews?

Thanks Tim,
This is what I have set and this is the desktop on my computer for a few saved CAD Drawings:


For some reason I don't think it's your wonderful program but some administrator privileges in Win7. However, I install other programs with no issues. I had the icons with a Beta version of ViaCAD prior to purchasing it.
