I am using ViaCAD v6. According to the help menu, I have the current build. When I attempt to export a drawing as DXF, no matter which settings I choose, the resulting file shows up as a 2D file of the TOP view of the drawing. When I open the same DXF file with ViaCAD, it's looks fine. When I try to view the file using AutoCAD's eDrawings program, they are only 2D. Also, I have a laser drawing program that accepts 3D DXF and the files show as 2D there as well. This is a major requirement for me. My main hope for this program that I have had for a while but not really used is that I will be able to use it for making 3D laser animations. Without a working DXF export, it is useless for that purpose. I am considering upgrading to v9, but obviously won't be if this doesn't work.

Since you are seeing it on import, I wonder if the 3D data is in another layer. ViaCAD's DXF/DWG export supports layers.
