I'm running ViaCad 10 2D. Only the 2d version. When I select Items and add the selected in the Attributes/BOM window, to create the BOM table, I am unable to find a way to edit those items. Whether it's to remove an item from that list, edit it or anything. Is this a feature missing from the 2d version of the software?

Thank you

Hello HJ Nick

The BOM table updates when the objects that are reference change.
You can delete and object and then hit update BOM to remove it from the table.

Can you be more specific as to what you are trying to edit?

Let's say I want to remove an item from that list but not from my project. Only option is to delete that line in the table itself. But when I hit update to update the table, because I made a change, that removed item is back in my table.I have read somewhere online that there is a whole tab that allows you to edit this. I can't find it anywhere.
According to this video video (look towards the end) there should be 3 tabs in the concept explorer. Features Layers Symbols I don't have the features tab.

The Feature tab of the Concept Explorer is only available in the programs with 3D capabilities, it is not in the 2D program.

Another option you have to remove an object from your BOM, but not from the project itself is to select the object and from the edit menu Remove links. When you update the BOM that object is removed but stays in your drawing.

Thanks Todd Quinlan,

I was unaware that that was only available in the 3d software. I will check out the remove links option. Never thought of that.

A side question, Is there a way to edit how the BOM table lays out? Meaning the order of the list or the fact that is does decimals not fractions.

The order of the chart is the order you set the attributes and that can not be altered, so you will need to plan ahead when creating the BOM.

As far as the decimals or fractions, at this time it will only display decimals. I can submit a feature request for future builds making the BOM more customizable.

My thoughts are the entities tab would be a useful addition feature to the 2d program. In working with a lot of blocks/groups the entities tab is very useful in in 2d.
