I have to regularly send out my ViaCad 2d drawings for Autocad users.

They noticed that whenever I send a dwg (I export in 2015 ACAD), the holes and curves all become polylines.

Is there a way to mitigate this so they instead get real curves and real holes?

Thanks in advance!

And while we're on this subject, what is the best way to export the Solid model itself to Autocad 3D users?

So they can open my model and edit it themselves. Without buying VC or Shark themselves.

Thanks!

Hello

2d - ViaCAD only has polylines for draw views, Shark has precise lines option which will create arcs and circles instead.

3d - you can export as DWG, ACIS-SAT, step, iges

Thank you! This is very helpful to know. So I guess I'll have to Reinstall my old version of Shark v9. I deleted it to make some room and when I got VC 10 pro. Thought I'd never need it again. Ok but could you or someone else help with this quandary... HOW do I get Shark 9 to work on my Macbook Pro running High Sierra 10.13.5? Before I deleted it, it didn't even open anymore. I really don't want to spend on the latest version of Shark just to open it. Not if I can help it.

Btw my version of Shark is build 1163

Yes, Version 9 is not compatible with High Sierra, so you would need to upgrade to version 10. However, there are two versions of SharkCAD. SharkCAD Pro, which is the new name for version 10 of Shark FX and SharkCAD, which is v10 for Shark LT. Both of which offer the precision line method of drafting.

If you do decide to upgrade, feel free to give me a call and I can not only answer any questions you may have on the latest products, but I may be able to help a little with the pricing too. I can be reached at 800-856-9601 between the hours of 8AM and 5PM CST Monday - Friday.
